About a month back I purchased this Compaq A993TU Notebook with Vista Home Pre-installed.
Frankly I had gone to buy a Dell with XP preloaded, but fell for this Compaq 17 Inch screen space, decent config and good keyboard layout.
Also felt Dell 15' keyboard was a bit cramped on space.
While buying me thought that first thing I would do is switch Vista with XP.
But now I am doomed as HP guys say they don't support XP on this model and I am unable to find suitable drivers for it.
Right now I am downloading Window XP Black.... :)) from Torrents.
This version its comes with SP2 or may be SP3.......
I had a Compaq laptop earlier. And it also came with Vista Home but when I installed this XP Black it worked like charm.
I sold my earlier Compaq model to get this one as my sole purpose was Core 2 Duo and 17 Inch screen space.
I am hoping this version of XP Black works well on A933TU...
I have not installed normal plane Jane XP because its too hectic to install all other application on top of OS.
Here are updates
So I have installed XP on my machine.
Here are some screenshots.
